Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE) is established by Mr. Rajesh Chouta under Rajalaxmi Education Trust, Mangalore in 2007 with an objective of promoting research-oriented advanced courses in the field of technology & engineering. MITE is committed to promote and propagate quality education on par with international standards to groom talents and turn them into top quality professionals with high intellectual capabilities and strong moral values. The proposed College will be affiliated to the Vishweshwarayya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka State and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
MITE is established in a vast plot carved out of a total holding exceeding 40 acres land held by Rajalaxmi Education Trust . MITE is located on the Mangalore - Sholapur Highway and is about 30 kms from Mangalore and is about 4 kms short of the town of Moodabidri. The entire area provides abundance of quiet and unpolluted air, which has become rarest of the rare in the modern campus life.

Academic building for MITE, including Laboratories, workshops, Library, main Auditorium, Hostels for Girls as well as for Boys, residential quarters for staff ... etc have been jointly conceived and implemented by renowned landscaping and architectural experts, combining enhanced scenic beauty with constructional excellence. This has been done, keeping in mind the ultimate end user and the most important person in the campus, the STUDENT. In each and every activity undertaken for the realization of MITE, the focus has been to provide conducive and stimulating atmosphere for the student to learn and absorb knowledge and skills to the highest level, in the easiest and fastest way to convert the student into a highly competent engineer and an excellent human being in the service of one's country and the universe at large.
